Make and Take Tuesday: Cottage Garden in a Crate

It’s a terrible photo, but this is from 1999 - one of my first front porch gardens….all in crates, and very cottage feeling. Take a trip down memory lane with me, and we will make these fun crates together!

It’s a terrible photo, but this is from 1999 - one of my first front porch gardens….all in crates, and very cottage feeling. Take a trip down memory lane with me, and we will make these fun crates together!

In this workshop, we will be turning an apple crate into a miniature cottage garden complete with trellis, climbing plant, tall and wispy flowers, and billowing fillers and spillers that will transform a corner of your deck, porch, or balcony with a whimsical splash of color and texture. These will be flowers that are great for bouquets and for attracting butterflies and pollinators.

We will provide you with an apple crate - made right in Hinesburg by Clifford Lumber - along with soil, trellis, plants, and instruction.
